Omega Force's tactical action game Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate will launch this fall for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Xbox One, Tecmo Koei America announced today.

The game features a new storyline that 'brings the heroes together again after the death of the Demon Snake as they are called upon by a mysterious stone to return to the chaotic din of battle.' Side stories provide new scenarios and the chance to uncover secrets, while the ability to battle from another point of view and the 'what if' hypothetical stages extend the gameplay.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate offers 145 playable characters including nine new to the series, such as Abe Seimei and Shennong. Special crossover characters include Sophitia from the SoulCalubur series, Xu Shu from the Dynasty Warriors, Rachel from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 with more to be announced from the Atelier and Samurai Warriors.

Players can customize character models, battle cries and craft weapons. New moves available to players include Aerial Special attacks, Triple Rush, where players have the ability to switch between individual characters or attack as a party of three, as well as True Musou Burst, a finishing move executable by up to six characters.

Battlefields can support up to 100 enemies with progressive AI on screen at the same time. The game offers 51 different stages and will include battle stages from Atelier, Dynasty Warriors, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Samurai Warriors.

Gameplay includes online and offline modes, along with the introduction new Duel Mode, a mix of team 3 vs. 3 combat and card battles. PS4 users can capture screenshots and livestream games or co-op play across Story, Free and Gauntlet modes.

The game also supports cross-play and cross save functionality, where players can co-op, data share and save between PS3, PS4 and PS Vita systems. Players can also import save data from Warriors Orochi 3 on PS3. The PS3 and PS Vita versions will be available for purchase via the PlayStation Store for $49.99 and $39.99, respectively. The PS4 and Xbox One versions will retail for $59.99.
